Step 1: Your leader or organizer visits www.picknamesfromahat.com and tells us how many people are in your group.

Step 2: Your leader or organizer gets a web page with your group's unique Hat ID and shares that web page with the group.

Step 3: Your leader or organizer may put their own name in the hat and everyone else puts their own name in the hat. Everyone has to choose their own secret code or password. Stay on the page or come back later to see if everyone has put their name in the hat.

Step 4: When everyone has put their name in the hat, names are picked and assigned to everyone. We will make sure no one will pick their own name.

Step 5: Everyone will click on their own name, enter their secret code, and see the person's name they picked. Come back to the page any time if you forgot who you picked. Assigned names are saved for one year. Incomplete hats will be deleted sooner.

Don't forget your secret code! It cannot be recovered! Seriously, don't forget it! Choose something easy to remember or write it down. You don't have to use symbols or upper case. It's not your bank account. It's just for picking names!
